A secret railway
Oh. I love unexpected fun days. Mr Me took the day off today to hang around with me. We had fun. And free fun, which is even better. We got a bus that went the wrong way and went around the block on that. Then we walked around our wood and I got completely disorientated. And decided that to walk home we should go south and left when in fact we needed to go north and right. I can be such a girl. But best of all I took Mr Me to see the secret old railway hidden away in our suburban landscape. It used to carry the coal around. Now it's all overgrown but the tracks and the bridges are still there. It looks like a film set for a feature involving devil worshippers. At least when I was young they were the stories we told. That the satanists used to meet under the bridge and conduct interesting devil worshipping ceremonies involving dead goats and nakedness. I think Mr Me got a bit excited when I mentioned that. But really, it is pretty. I love places no one knows about. Especially in built up areas. I can imagine the steam trains going under the bridges as I look at the tracks where the trees are starting to grow now. I can hear the shouting of men and the smells of our newly industrialised country. It's nice having a bit of history just up the road that I can visit whenever I fancy. I'm going to fall asleep now. G'night.
