I love you, you big multinational, you.

I am a bad person. Bad, bad, bad. Heart-rendingly awful.

I'm doing alright at being a kick-ass feminist. I recycle my glass and paper even though I have to drive to find the nearest recycling point. I even give regular monies to charity, mate.

But.....

I like supermarkets. Not in principle you understand. In principle they are nasty, big multinationals that move into areas and force small family traders out of business with their prices that don't reflect the full cost of their produce. Most of the rest of the cost being born by the environment. And they make food that often tastes of nothing. Especially the fruit and veg.

However...

I like going to supermarkets. I get all excited to see all this different stuff everywhere. Oh, look exciting chillies that I've never seen before. And only 50p, bargain! Now I need some chicken and some tomatoes.. oh look! Vine ripened tomatoes. They sound good and corn-fed chicken. Mine! Now they've even started stocking clothes. Funky brown cords (no really, they are funky) and 'real' Italian pizza. In the same shop. C'mon, tell me that's not cool.

Oh. I know it's not cool. But it's fun.

Supermarkets are my dirty laundry. You know, I think I need to get out more.
